We are pleased to announce the launch of our Readathon 2020 in support of the Room to Read project. The Readathon will run from February 7th until April 3rd 2020. Last year the primary children in Suffren, Dupleix and Theatre worked together to read thousands of books and raised over €24, 000 for the Tuol Sophy School in Cambodia. This is an amazing achievement and the third year running that we raised such a phenomenal sum of money.
Thanks to the generosity of our parent community and the hard work of our students, the Tuol Sophy School, located in a poor rural area of Cambodia, now have their own library filled with local language books, a librarian, and teachers who are trained to teach children how to read. We are excited to see the role we have played, through the power of education, in opening a new world of opportunities for the children of their school.
This year we will be working on a project for a school in South Africa. We hope that our children enjoy the books they will discover during the 2020 Readathon, and appreciate sharing a love of reading in classes over the coming weeks.
