Readathon 2019 & Room to Read

We are pleased to announce the launch of our Readathon 2019 in support of the Room to Read project. Last year the primary children in Suffren, Dupleix and Theatre worked together to read thousands of books. Thanks to the generosity of parents, teachers and students alike this initiative raised an enormous €30,050. This is an amazing achievement and the second year running that we have raised such a phenomenal sum of money.

Funding from École Jeannine Manuel supported various activities at ‘Tuol Sophy’ school in Cambodia, such as training for teachers and library staff, the construction of a library building, and the purchase of all the furniture and local language books. It has helped make Tuol Sophy an enriching and inviting place for children to learn. Our community's generosity has not only impacted the students at this school, but also their families, communities and local governments.

This year our Readathon will be in support of a school in Sri Lanka. We are excited to play a role, through the power of education, in opening a new world of opportunities for the children of this school.
